CRI of the Setúbal Peninsula - Art Exhibition "Fragments of the Soul - Art and Reflection on Addiction and Mental Health"
The art exhibition "Fragmentos da Alma - Arte e Reflexão sobre Dependência e Saúde Mental" (Fragments of the Soul - Art and Reflection on Addiction and Mental Health) was held in April at the Sociedade de Instrução e Recreio Barreirense, Os Penicheiros, organised by Maria Diogo, a psychosocial technician, and Ana Sequeira, a nurse, both from the Arco Ribeirinho team of the Setúbal Peninsula CRI. This initiative was part of the "April, Healthy Barreiro" programme, promoted by Barreiro Town Hall.
The result of the challenge launched to the treatment unit's users and the community in general to submit photography, drawing and painting works, in a logic of deconstructing prejudices, integration and enrichment, it aimed to raise public awareness of the challenge of addictions, mental health and associated vulnerabilities.
The opening of this event included a space for reflection and dialogue, which included a musical moment, and aimed to raise community awareness of issues related to addictions and mental health, promoting emotional and social literacy through artistic practice. The meeting was attended by Pedro Santos, a psychiatrist from the Arco Ribeirinho Centre team, Carlos Cleto, a sociologist from the Prevention and Health Promotion Unit, and José Diogo, a senior technician from the Prevention Team of the Setúbal Peninsula CRI, all from ICAD, I.P., as well as the other members of these two teams.
