ICAD at the COPOLAD III Annual Conference
On 6 and 7 May, ICAD, I.P. took part in the Annual Conference of COPOLAD III (Cooperation Programme between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean) in Warsaw, on the theme "A common challenge, a shared strategy".
During this event, which was attended by more than 150 experts from 40 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union, the results of the last four years of the programme were presented in its different areas of work and experiences and points of view were exchanged on common drug policy challenges, in order to strengthen the actions already underway and identify new strategic initiatives for the future.
ICAD, I.P. was represented by Ana Sofia Santos, coordinator of the International Relations and Cooperation Office, and by Américo Gegaloto, president of the Setúbal CDT, who moderated the session "Humanising drug policy. Responses from the judicial systems".
Since 2011, Portugal has been participating in COPOLAD, which is funded by the European Commission and whose aim is to promote technical cooperation and political dialogue between Latin America, the Caribbean and the EU in order to support the implementation of more effective drug policies based on the defence of human rights, gender equality, public health, citizen safety and other dimensions of sustainable development.
