ICAD certified as EUDA National Focal Point

The final evaluation meeting of the Institute for Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies as the National Focal Point (NFP) of the European Union Agency on Drugs took place in Lisbon on 27 and 28 May. ICAD, I.P. was certified with a high rating, reinforcing its institutional credibility and recognised technical capacity in the field of drug policies.

The meeting was led by the Head of the National Focal Point and Coordinator of ICAD, I.P.'s International Relations and Cooperation Office, Ana Sofia Santos, and representatives of the Agency. It was also attended by various managers and professionals from the Central Unit of this public institute, as well as external partners who regularly collaborate in the NFP's activities, such as the Judicial Police, the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, the Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences at Universidade Nova (CICS/Nova) and the Kosmicare Association.

The aim of this process is to formally recognise the competence of the NFP to carry out specific tasks in a reliable, credible and accurate manner, as well as to verify compliance with the criteria established for carrying out the tasks in the Regulation that created the EUDA.
