Visit by a delegation from Oslo City Council

On May 6, ICAD received a delegation of members of the Oslo City Council. At a time when Norway is debating the possibility of decriminalising the consumption of illicit substances, the main purpose of this visit was to learn about the national approach to addictive behaviours, with a particular focus on decriminalisation, the functioning of the Commissions for the Dissuasion of Drug Addiction, as well as risk reduction and harm minimisation responses.

The delegation was welcomed at ICAD by Elsa Maia, from the International Relations and Cooperation Office, and by Nuno Capaz, from the Lisbon Commission for the Dissuasion of Drug Addiction. As part of the visit, they also had the opportunity to see the mobile unit of the Low Threshold Substitution Programme (PSBLE) and the Integrated Support Service (SAI), both coordinated by the Ares do Pinhal Association.
